01.20.07 Thursday (Jan 18th) was our Third Vj Night. I need to get into the habit of doing this more often, just sharing my thoughts about the night, and not a review - which I feel I am completely unqualified to do since I am just running around trying to remember people's names and be a good host (or at least adequate!)
So...well, I thought it was a very successful night. We had the largest turn out so far (to which I joked "This is our SECOND largest crowd we've ever had") - and it was a good group of people. At least they were very generous with there laughter and in good spirits. At the end of the night I at least felt that most people were entertained, whether they liked the whole VJing thing or not, maybe they got a laugh or two. So I was proud of that.
We had some technical difficulties during Spyscience's set and I only bring that up because I thought he handled it great and it was actually a good, educational thing for the audience to see. It's important for people to understand just how HARD it is to do live video - really, it's amazing it EVER works. One of my main "pre-gig" prayers is just "bless my equipment, I hope it works!" It's painful to watch someone go through it, cause you just feel so sorry for them and want to help! But everyone rolled with it and made the best of it and it worked out just fine. And like I said, it's good to see the behind the scenes of the art of VJing - THAT'S WHAT THE WHOLE NIGHT IS ABOUT!
I also want to thank everyone that helps to put this show on. I am amazed by the amount of hard work and dedication people give to make this happen. I couldn't do it by myself, NO WAY. And I feel so humbled by the help - it's just a beautiful thing and inspires me to hold up my end of the evening! My hope is someday, everyone gets PAID!! They deserve it, and more.
